Ellis-Rapha Psychological Services is an out-patient facility, dedicated to providing exceptional mental health care. Our team of experienced Clinical Psychologists offers personalized and evidence-based treatment to ensure optimal well-being for our clients.

We specialize in a wide range of services, including online therapy, individual counseling, couples counseling, pre-marital counselling, family therapy and so on. Our therapists are skilled in addressing various mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, stress management, adjustment issues, relationship issues and so on.

We collaborate with corporations, schools, hospitals, and other institutions to promote mental wellness through a variety of programs. These include psychoeducational workshops, engaging talks, comprehensive training programs, and interactive live webinars, all designed to support mental health and wellbeing.

Ellis-Rapha Psychological Services is committed to being a leading therapist provider in Nigeria. However, please note that we do not offer crisis response services. Our services are provided on an outpatient basis both physically and virtually to accommodate for your convenience  and while we are not a crisis response center, we strive to respond to your needs as promptly as possible.

Who is a Psychologist?

A psychologist is trained to help people cope more effectively with life issues and mental health problems. They help with anything from depression to anxiety to learning disorders. Psychologists use various methods including psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness and Psychodynamic therapy, and can work with individuals, couples, families or other groups. They are also trained to administer and interpret psychological tests and assessments.

Who is a Coach?

Wellbeing coaches can be qualified psychologists, psychiatrists or counselors. Coaching is often for those individuals who don’t have mental health difficulty but would like to improve the quality of their life and wellbeing.

Therapy often work to a prescribed method and follow a particular clinical model; alternatively, coaching is curated to focus on empowering functional individuals.

What kind of services does your practice offer?

Our practice offers a wide range of services to help individuals and families address mental health and well-being challenges. These services include Diagnostic assessments, Psychotherapy and Counseling services, Mental health coaching, Teletherapy (Online therapy), Corporate and Workplace services.

What type of therapy do you offer?

We offer a variety of evidence-based therapies such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), interpersonal therapy (IPT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), trauma-focused therapies such as Trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT)) and mindfulness-based therapies such as Mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) and Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) Each therapist might have different expertise and might offer different combination of therapies.

Can you see me on an urgent basis?

We understand that mental health emergencies may arise, and we make every effort to accommodate clients in difficulty as quickly as possible. However, availability may vary depending on the therapist schedule and availability. Kindly fill the form and we will attend to you promptly.

Are you taking new clients at the moment?

We typically have availability for new clients. However, availability can vary, so it’s best to check with us directly.

What is your cancellation policy?

We understand that unexpected things come up and it might be necessary to cancel or reschedule an appointment. We ask that clients provide 48 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment. If the client fails to show up or fails to give a 48-hour notice, the client will be charged the full session fee.

How long are therapy sessions?

Our therapy sessions are typically 60 minutes in length.

We take client privacy very seriously and comply with all laws and regulations related to client confidentiality. We encourage you to read our privacy policy available on our website for more information.

How do I schedule an appointment?

What should I expect at my first session?

During your first session, your therapist will ask you to complete an intake form, conduct a diagnostic assessment and will spend time getting to know you and your concerns. This will help the therapist understand what specific issues you would like to address, and will allow them to tailor the therapy to your needs.

Where will the therapy take place?

Currently, therapy sessions are taking place both online via Google meet and in-person, at Ellis-Rapha Psychological Services. We will continue to do our best to serve you in-line with any personal situation or preference you may have. Our priority is always to make you feel comfortable and at ease, whether your session is taking place online or in-person at the center.

Online Therapy

Have your session from the comfort of your own home. Ellis-Rapha Psychological Services offers online therapy across age ranges; for adults, teens and children. Sessions take place via Google meet, and simple-to-follow set up instructions are shared in advance. Online therapy services provide the much-needed relief and solution for our complex worlds when needed. Like in-person therapy, online therapy is conducted in the same manner; a supportive relationship that the clinician upholds for the client, addressing the increasing issues related to work and life stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, parenting, family dynamics, and beyond.

Ellis-Rapha Psychological Services is an outpatient facility and our operating hours are as follows:

  • Monday – Friday: 8am – 6pm
  • Saturday: 10am – 4pm
  • Sunday: Closed
Emergency

Please note that Ellis-Rapha Psychological Services is an outpatient facility and does not provide crisis services. In the event of a psychiatric emergency and/or if you are feeling vulnerable and need immediate support due to mental or emotional distress, please attend the nearest hospital with psychiatric admission.

Fees and Billing

Payments are made online before each appointment, via a secure payment link that will be sent to your registered email address. Alternatively, payment can be made in-person at our clinic in advance of appointments (cash, credit/debit card, online transfer).
